Colin Barrett
Principal
Colin graduated with honours from the University of Reading in 1993 and started his career as a group risk underwriter; initially at Swiss Life (UK) Plc and then with Wellington Underwriting Agencies (Syndicate 332) at Lloyd's of London.
In 1996 he moved to Reuters PLC where he specialised in providing capital markets and business information to major international institutions and investment managers.
In 2003 Colin joined Baxter Fensham, where he worked closely with Giles Pidcock and Keith Macdonald to provide a comprehensive investment advisory and financial planning service to numerous trusts and wealthy individuals and families. In 2006 he was a key part of the team that moved away to set up Fensham Howes.
Colin is an associate of the Institute of Financial Planning. He holds the Advanced Financial Planning Certificate (AFPC), and in achieving this he won the award for outstanding examination results from the Chartered Insurance Institute of Leeds. He also holds Part 1 of the Lloyd's Market Certificate.
